Terms of Service
Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms govern your use of the Laiffi app, which is provided by the operator identified below. By creating an account or using Laiffi, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
You can reach the operator using the contact button on the Data rights & support screen. How your personal data is handled is described separately in the Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Laiffi, and you confirm this when you register. If you are not, please do not create an account.
Laiffi is currently offered in Finland and is written for use there. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you are.
Your account
Using Laiffi requires an account. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Apple or Google.
You agree to give accurate account information, to keep your credentials secure, and not to share your account with anyone else. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has gained access to it.
Free beta — no payment
Laiffi is currently offered free of charge as a beta.
- There is no price, and you will not be charged for using it
- There is no subscription, trial that converts, or automatic renewal
- No payment method is required, and Laiffi does not collect card or payment details
- There are no in-app purchases
If paid features are introduced later, we will tell you in advance, they will be presented separately under their own purchase terms, and any charge will apply only to a purchase you actively choose to make. Your free account will never be converted into a paid subscription without your explicit action.
What Laiffi does
Laiffi is a planning and wellbeing-support tool. It helps you plan your day, manage tasks, routines and to-dos, import events from your device calendar, estimate travel between places, set reminders, and optionally keep daily reflections and see summaries of them.
It is intended as a helpful aid. It is not professional advice.
Calendar and device permissions
Calendar import, location, microphone and notifications each require a permission you grant on your device, and each is optional. You can revoke any of them at any time in your device settings; doing so disables the feature that depends on it, not the rest of the app.
Calendar import is always started by you and brings in the events you select. You are responsible for having the right to use the calendar you import from, and for what you choose to import — for example, events belonging to an employer or another person.
Not a medical service
Laiffi does not provide medical care, diagnosis, treatment, therapy, counselling or any other healthcare service, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.
Reflections, wellbeing scores, insights and summaries are for your own personal awareness only. They are not an assessment of your health and must not be used as one. If you have a health concern, speak to a qualified professional.
Emergencies
Laiffi cannot help in an emergency and must never be relied on in one.
If you are in danger, or need urgent medical or mental-health help, contact your local emergency services right away — in Finland and across the EU you can call 112 — or reach a qualified professional.
Your responsibility to review
You are responsible for reviewing the schedules, travel estimates, reminders and suggestions Laiffi produces before you rely on them.
Use your own judgment for anything that matters — catching a flight, arriving at an appointment, taking medication, or any commitment with a real consequence for being late or missing it.
AI-generated content
Some features use automated and AI-generated content: arranging your day, interpreting the changes you ask for, transcribing spoken feedback and summarizing reflections.
AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuited to your situation. Transcription can misread what you said. A generated schedule can misplace or omit something. Treat all of it as a suggestion to check, never as a guarantee, and confirm anything important yourself before acting on it.
Travel times, routes and timetables
Travel times, routes, distances and public-transport information in Laiffi are estimates. They come from third-party routing and timetable services, or — when no route is available — from an internal approximation that is marked as an estimate.
They do not account for real-world conditions such as traffic, delays, cancellations, roadworks, weather or how you actually travel. Do not rely on them where being late has a real consequence; check the operator's own timetable or a live navigation service.
Third-party services
Laiffi depends on your device and on third-party services for sign-in, email delivery, AI processing, hosting, transit routing and driving routes. Some of them, including the driving-route service used during the free beta, are provided without any availability commitment to us.
These services can be unavailable, delayed, changed or discontinued, and features that depend on them may not always work. Where a service fails, Laiffi degrades as gracefully as it can — for example by falling back to an estimated travel time. We are not responsible for third-party services themselves or for their content.
Reminders and notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by your device's operating system, not sent from our servers.
Whether a reminder actually appears is outside our control: it depends on your permissions, notification and focus settings, battery and power-saving behaviour, and the device being on. Reminders can be delayed or missed, so do not use Laiffi as your only alert for anything critical.
Acceptable use
Please use Laiffi lawfully and reasonably. Do not:
- break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, using the service
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other users' data, or our infrastructure
- disrupt, overload or interfere with the service, or circumvent its technical limits or security
- use automated means to extract data from the service at scale
- upload content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to upload
- resell or commercially redistribute the service
Your content
Your content stays yours — your tasks, plans, notes, saved places, imported events, feedback and reflections.
You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service for you: to store your content, process it to generate and adjust your schedules, transmit the necessary parts of it to the service providers listed in the Privacy Policy, and show it back to you. That permission exists solely to run the service and ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not publish it.
Privacy and reflection consent
How we handle your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
Reflection processing is separate and optional: it starts only after you give explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time in Settings. Withdrawal deletes your reflection data and does not restrict any other part of Laiffi.
Intellectual property
Laiffi — including its software, design, branding and the content we provide — is protected by intellectual-property rights and remains ours or our licensors'.
These Terms do not transfer those rights to you. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app for your own purposes, on the terms set out here.
Beta status, changes and discontinuation
Laiffi is provided as a beta. It may be unavailable or interrupted, including for maintenance, and features may be added, changed or removed as it develops.
We may discontinue the service or part of it. If we discontinue it entirely, we will give you reasonable advance notice where we can, so that you have an opportunity to request a copy of your data or delete your account.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, if it is necessary to protect other users, the service or a third party, or if we are legally required to.
We will use the least restrictive step reasonably available and, where reasonable and lawful, tell you beforehand and give you a chance to put things right. If we terminate your account, you can ask us for a copy of your data before it is deleted.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, without giving a reason. Deletion is permanent and removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
You can also delete only your reflection data, or withdraw reflection consent, while keeping the rest of your account.
Warranties and availability
Laiffi is provided during the beta on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant the accuracy of schedules, estimates, transcriptions or AI-generated content.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits any warranty or right that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory Finnish consumer law. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights in full.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable loss, loss of data beyond our reasonable control, or loss arising from your reliance on schedules, travel estimates, timetable information, reminders, transcriptions or AI-generated suggestions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory rights under Finnish consumer law are unaffected by these Terms, and nothing here is intended to reduce them.
Apple App Store terms
These Terms are an agreement between you and us. Laiffi is operated under the business name Haimi Studios by the private trader identified in these Terms. They are not an agreement with Apple, Apple is not a party to them, and we alone — not Apple — are responsible for Laiffi and for everything in it.
If you obtained Laiffi from the Apple App Store, Apple requires us to tell you the following, and you agree to it:
- Apple has no obligation at all to provide maintenance or support for Laiffi. If you need help, contact us — the Data rights & support screen has the address.
- To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple gives no warranty for Laiffi and has no warranty obligation of any kind in relation to it.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for dealing with any claim about Laiffi. That includes product-liability claims, any claim that Laiffi fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection law, to the extent applicable law makes us responsible for them.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that Laiffi infringes another person's intellectual-property rights.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a United States government embargo, or that the United States government has designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not listed on any applicable United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You will comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Laiffi.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and once you accept these Terms Apple has the right to enforce the terms in this section against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Your use of a copy of Laiffi obtained from the App Store is also subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and to the App Store Usage Rules that apply to it.
This section does not reduce any right you have under mandatory Finnish or EU consumer law, and it does not change what "Warranties and availability" and "Liability" say about our own responsibility to you. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by Finnish law. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
You may always bring proceedings in the courts available to you under mandatory law, including the courts of your place of residence.
If you have a complaint
Please contact us first using the address on the Data rights & support screen — most issues are quickest to resolve directly.
If we cannot resolve it and you are a consumer in Finland, you can seek advice from the Consumer Advisory Services (kuluttajaneuvonta) and refer the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariitalautakunta). Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute-resolution platform. These routes are in addition to your right to go to court, not a replacement for it.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as Laiffi develops. The current version and date are shown at the top of this screen.
For material changes we will inform you in the app before they take effect and, where the change requires it, ask you to review and accept the updated Terms before continuing to use Laiffi. If you do not accept them, you can stop using the service and delete your account. Minor, non-material corrections may be made without a separate notice.
Contact
For questions about these Terms, use the Data rights & support screen, which includes a button to email our support contact. We read every message, but during the beta we do not commit to a fixed response time.
